Pier House is a beachside restaurant and cocktail bar in Venice Beach that features a variety of classic seafood dishes, East Coast-inspired seafood rolls, porch-pounding cocktails, and a raw bar with a fantastic selection of freshly shucked oysters. The menu changes quickly to highlight the best products at the peak of seasonality, with fun and interesting dishes that everyone can enjoy.
REBRANDING
Pier House, initially named "The Pier House," was a fine dining restaurant that was a bit out of place in a Bohemian-style neighborhood. After shortening the name to Pier House, I created a relaxed yet versatile logo with a floating sun to represent a beachside aura. Perfect for brunch bites and music into the night.
SPECIALTY SIGNS
The former outdoor signage for The Pier House was barely noticeable and discreet, with a small logo on the side of their white awning.
With the renovation of this restaurant, the storefront sign broadly displays Pier House over dark wooden shingles, to be seen from street and beach views. A corner sign was also created for people moving south on Venice Boulevard. These signs light up for additional visibility at night.
